Pagee Privacy Policy

Pagee - Text to Speech Reader is published by Derinbogaz Ventures UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains how Pagee handles information when you scan pages, listen to audio, use optional account features, or purchase a subscription.

Information we process

Pages and text. Pagee performs text recognition on your device whenever possible. If on-device recognition cannot complete a scan, the page image may be sent to our OCR provider, Fireworks AI, to extract text. The extracted text is sent to OpenAI's EU endpoint to create the audio you request. We store page text, optional page images, and generated audio in our Cloudflare-hosted storage so that your history and playback can work.

Device and account information. We use a randomly generated device identifier to provide the free-page allowance, history, and subscription status. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we store Apple's account identifier and the email address Apple provides, if any, to link your account and devices.

Purchase information. Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive and store the transaction information needed to verify and maintain your Pagee subscription; we do not receive your payment-card details.

Usage information. We collect limited, pseudonymous app events such as app version and feature usage to improve reliability and understand how Pagee is used. The analytics identifier is derived from the device identifier rather than your name or email address.

How we use information

We use this information to provide text recognition and audio playback, maintain your page history and subscription access, prevent misuse, support the app, and improve its performance. We do not sell personal information or use your page content for advertising.

Service providers

We use Cloudflare for application infrastructure, database, and storage; Fireworks AI for fallback OCR; OpenAI for text-to-speech generation through its EU endpoint; Google Analytics for limited usage measurement; and Apple for Sign in with Apple and in-app purchases. These providers process information only to provide their services to us.

Your choices and retention

You can delete individual pages from Pagee's history, which removes their associated page record and stored media. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings. To request help with account or privacy matters, contact us at cderinbogaz@gmail.com.

Security and children

We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Pagee is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
